BCOF SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

THIS SCHOLARSHIP IS A REFLECTION OF NU LAMBDA SIGMA ALUMNI CHAPTER OF PHI BETA SIGMA FRATERNITY, INC., EFFORT TO PROVIDE SUPPORT THAT WILL ASSIST, INSPIRE AND ENABLE YOUNG MALES TO REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL IN SOCIETY THROUGH OUR PRINCIPALS OF BROTHERHOOD, SCHOLARSHIP, AND SERVICE.

Scholarship Criteria:

Applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 on his official current transcript.
High school applicant must be accepted into an accredited college, university, or trade school before an award will be released.
Applicant must demonstrate scholastic achievement and involvement in extra-curricular activities promoting community building and service.
Applicant must be a resident of the Lake County Public School District.
Applicant must obtain 2 letters of recommendation

*Recommendation Letters must be on official letterhead of the organization.

Application Process:

To be considered, the applicant must include the following in his or her application:

All applicants must complete the ON-LINE information form.
Applicants must include the faculty/staff letter of recommendation detailed above.
Official transcript with school seal (Mailed).

Applicants must complete a one-page essay, including the following information:

Describe why you feel you are a deserving recipient for this scholarship.
List any special circumstances you would like the Scholarship Committee to consider when reviewing your application (OPTIONAL)

Submission of Application:

All of the above materials must be RECEIVED no later than April 30th, 2020
Recipients and their schools will be notified no later than May 10th, 2020
Scholarship recipients will be formally awarded at a time and location to be determined. All recipients are expected to attend this event.

NOTE-Faxes WILL NOT be accepted unless special arrangements are made in advance
